Artist's Description

This dead tree catches the eye of many a photographer in the Davis Mountains in West Texas, and I’ve photographed it a number of times. For this image, I wanted to catch the sun rising behind the bare branches and over the desert floor below.

Dead trees, however, are not lifeless, and are used for nests, food and shelter for many birds, insects and animals. I think the ones living here get a pretty great view.

About Slow Fuse Photography

Slow Fuse Photography

Thanks for stopping by the Slow Fuse Print Shop. Established in 2016 in Austin, Texas. Desert + Hill Country. Sunrises + sunsets. Warm light + color. My work focuses on desert and hill country landscapes, and I like to search for compositions that offer escapism while including local settings and beautiful Texas skies. By making the most of the visual drama at golden hour, I am able to capture moments of unique color and character. Please reach out at [email protected] with enquiries and commissions.
